FYI, this isn't a "regular" 4 strand braid. The typical 4-strand you would usually see has more of a round shape to it. This is a woven flat braid, something a little bit different. I think this braid is actually much easier to do than the regular 4-strand, but of course that is just my opinion.
4 strand braid video tutorial:
This braid really is easy after you have practiced a couple of times. We'll be posting another fun hairstyle using this four-strand braid soon, so keep an eye out for that.

I really like this one! It's beautiful. I love your daughter's hair. My dd has a lot of broken hair so it kind of comes out of the braid really easy. She takes after mommy! So if I want it to stay, I use gel and then a tighter braid that is twisted with each strand works best. And it still lays flat!
ReplyDeleteluv it I just love the thickness of it too gives it more defination
ReplyDeleteI know this isn't about the hairstyle today but I was wondering where the tutorial for the second picture on the top of the page is at? I looked on facebook and couldn't find it in the gallery. I really like that hairstyle, could you tell me where to find it?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I am following you from the wrights hair blog. Amber has told me how much she enjoys your blog.
ReplyDeleteUntil last year I thought this was the 4-strand braid. I would weave from both sides. Your method is much simpler than I was doing it.
ReplyDeleteTiffany, you can find that 2nd hairstyle here: basket weave hairstyle :)
ReplyDeleteOk sorry, that link didn't work since I'm using popup comments. Here is the address, you can cut and paste: http://www.princesshairstyles.com/2009/03/easter-basket-hairstyle.html
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you Dianne! I love Amber's blog as well. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Can't wait for my little ones hair to be long enough to do this one.
