5 Strand Braid Video

After seeing the 5 strand braid that one of our awesome readers submitted the other day, I was determined to figure out how to do it. So, here's my first attempt.....
5 strand braidAs you can see, it's definitely not perfect and I need to practice before I feel comfortable trying a Five Strand French Braid version. It really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be though. You can do it!

Here's the video that taught me how. Give it a try!!

Oh my gosh, I was so proud of myself for mastering the 4-strand! Now I HAVE to learn this one. I think yours looks perfect. Thanks for sharing this.

I didn't even know they had a 4-strand out. I need to find that one! If someone knows about a video, email me! wererich2 @ gmail . com

Otherwise, I'm going to try this one out!

That is really cool! I hope my daughter (and I) are patient enough!! I just found this website:

I thought you'd enjoy getting inspiration from them!

Denise, www.babesinhairland.com has a 4-strand tutorial. That's where I learned it.

Wow, if she can do it on *herself* then surely I can give it a go on my daughter! Thanks!

Her arms HAVE to be tired after that!

I find the four-strand to be way easier that the five-, but the eight is just two fours (cross in the center after you're done with each side) and is, for me, also easier than the five!

I realize that this video isn't yours, but I would love to have your videos with sound. I guess I need to be talked through it while I watch...

LOVE IT! :) I'm so glad you've added the 5-strand. I honestly find the french braid version of 5-strand easier than non-french braided, because you can just "drop" the outside strands and pick them up with the additional hair. The only challenge is the hair at the bottom of the braid sometimes comes loose, because it gets so much more layered. Looks beautiful!

That's really cool! I didn't know there was anything other than a regular 3 strand braid and a French braid.
