Easter Basket Hairstyle!!
I love how this one turned out! And don't worry, it looks like it may be difficult, but it's really not. It's easy and fairly quick! The best part? Only one elastic to take out when you're done!!

Apply a little gel/putty/pomade (whatever you use) to everything and start with a simple part like this.....
About an inch into the part, make a box.
Pull the hair around the box into a half pony, then continue with the part through the box so that you end up with 2 sections on top. Put one section in a temporary elastic out of the way. 
Thanks to some of YOU I discovered these nifty plastic (not sharp) needles! Thank you, thank you! You can buy a package of 4 for $1.50 at Walmart in the craft section. (I would recommend getting the biggest ones they have, the smaller ones are harder to thread.) You'll also need a piece or string or dental floss (that's what I used) to make the threading a snap! Thread both ends of the floss through the eye of the plastic needle like this....
Then, section out a small piece of hair at the front of the part, slip the hair through the loop of floss and pull the floss and hair through the needle to thread it.
Now comes the fun part! Coming straight down from the part, weave the needle in and out of the hair in the half pony. Continue pulling down and the hair will follow. I was a little worried this was going to pull, but it didn't. She didn't complain from pulling at all during the whole process.
So, here's the first section all finished. Keep going all the way along the part, alternating with going over first, then under first to make the woven pattern.
Here it is with both sides completed.
Now for some curls, here we are about halfway through the curling process. I curled the pieces left from the weaving and the hair in the pony, leaving the underneath straight.
Of course we needed to add a cute Easter Bow to finish it off!

French Twist Piggies Hairdo
I didn't do step by step pics. I think it's pretty self explanatory. Just leave out a box on top when you make the piggies. Split the box into 2 sections diagonally, then do a french twist braid in each section and add to the pigtails. Btw, these pictures were taken on her 6th birthday, right before she got her ears pierced! Here she is after the big event with her beautiful new earrings......

Gymnastics Hairstyle - Rainbow Elastic Braids
This one was done last summer. I wanted to look at something summery today since it's been SNOWING where I live lately, ugh! I think this hairstyle would be great for a gymnastic competition!
I got the idea for the partings on this one from one of my readers hairstyles. It's just modified a bit. The princess is wearing what she calls "her rainbow outfit." We had to do some hair to match the theme for the day!
It's really pretty straightforward. I'm thinking you can get it from the finished result without me explaining every step.
Do your part from ear to ear first. Then part diagonally from above one eye, back to your original part. Follow this part for doing your sections on one side. For the other side, starting at the back, section diagonally in the opposite way. (As you can see, we did the elastics in colors like a rainbow.)
Everything is pulled into a regular bun at the back.
We had to get a picture of her favorite tights too! She'd wear this outfit every day if I'd let her.

Start with a pony, leaving out an edge of hair all the way around her head. Start inside out french braiding at the bottom of her head, (underneath the ponytail) and go all the way around. When you get to the end of the french braid, keep braiding and bring the end of the braid up the back of her head and combine it in with the ponytail. (If you don't know how to do an inside out french braid, click on the link. You'll find an instructional video there!)
I didn't show the next steps in pictures because there really is no exact science to it. I just made some loops of hair with about 1/3 of the hair in the ponytail (the same way I did this Easter style.) I bobby pinned the loops to her head this time instead of using elastics. Then, I randomly braided some pieces and kinda strung them up through the loops and secured them to her head with the little clips. The last step was curling all the ends.The thing I've found with updos is- it's going to work out differently every time. Just kind of work with the hair until you get it looking the way you want it to. Sometimes I use bobby pins, sometimes I use elastics, sometimes I use clips, sometimes the hair needs to be curled, sometimes it doesn't. (You get the idea.) It's all just a crap shoot!! So, just use the basic ideas from these updo posts, then make your very own creation for the end result!
I was thinking this would be a cute hairstyle for a flower girl too. Or maybe even the prom! (Although I can't be sure about that one, LOL. I'm WAY too old and out of it to know what's in with that scene, KWIM!?!)
