My daughter has long hair ( a good 14 inches past her shoulders ). I did the "Twist and Weave" hairstyle when she was a flower girl last summer except I only did the top and left the rest of her hair in curls. I used A LOT of hairspray then, but now I use Garnier Fructis Style Fiber Gum - extra strong. I use the extra strong because of how stubborn our hair is, but it works GREAT. I like to use pincurls. They take a little time, but are so worth it. I learned how to from YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6-3J6Lzit0 ) There's different ones, but this seems to be the most popular. I took smaller sections because of how long and think the hair is, but it also depends on how big or small you want the curl. They don't hurt to sleep on and they stayed in ALL DAY which has never happened in our hair before. I'm going to do the twist and weave again for her first pageant. It was so beautiful last time, even though it took me a couple tries ^_^Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7426308379823402643.post-2341249103064713222011-02-24T16:24:44.460-07:002011-02-24T16:24:44.460-07:00Hair texture does play a big part! My oldest daughter's hair has finally gotten thick enough to hold a curl, but my other girls hair is still too fine and thin and isn't worth the bother. They get sad when they see their older sister with curls, but I encourage them and let them know someday they'll be able to have curly hair too. :)Blessings Aboundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11537312763085492455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7426308379823402643.post-43190924531124277922011-02-24T15:56:23.106-07:002011-02-24T15:56:23.106-07:00hello please can you tell me where you donated you...hello please can you tell me where you donated your daughter's hair?<br />thank you ;)Ilovemodafashionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00132532878042697301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7426308379823402643.post-3112524572884087252011-02-24T15:35:16.404-07:002011-02-24T15:35:16.404-07:00Thanks. I have to walk to the bus stop then take the bus so I think even if I do put hairspray in, the wind will wreck it. It has always been thin, ...I have impossible hair. It has always been thin, & the only way I get any wave in it is to put it up in a ballerina bun (which is what it usually is in). When I was in high school, though, I used my mother's 1/4" barrel curling iron. Yeah, it's from the eighties (or maybe older), but it works the same as the ones now. I made sure to use VERY small sections of hair & non-aerosol hairspray. The first time i did it, it took 4 hours - but that was curls all the way to the roots when i was almost sitting on my hair. I tried a 1/2" barrel last year, but ended up with slight waves within 2 hours so I took it back the next day. Now i do it with my straightener (which was almost $200 but does any type of hair) & it holds in just fine. Ask friends, family, & neighbors what they use & if you can try their stuff to find the right way. Good luck!stormyyskyyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16497048522973371324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7426308379823402643.post-70590505153884487262011-02-21T22:28:12.350-07:002011-02-21T22:28:12.350-07:00Can't WAIT till my daughter has longer hair!! ...Can't WAIT till my daughter has longer hair!!
